Home is where your heart is

People say home is where the heart is. I’ve always taken that to mean home is where your loved ones are, or home is where you feel most comfortable.

But just recently I’ve understood it to mean something different. Home is where your heart is – literally. I have spent a lot of time trying new things and shaping the world around me to make me feel good. But actually, I’ve never felt more at home than when I’ve become still and explored how I actually feel.

The power of building a strong connection to how you feel on the inside is highly underrated. We live in an ‘out there’ world rather than an ‘in here’ world. But to build resilience to the ever changing, ever uncertain world around us we must start with what’s going on inside, we must look at what’s going on in our hearts.

One of the most impactful things I do is meditate in order to connect to the internal peace that’s available for me. Being grateful and acknowledging myself for my skills and strengths also allow me to strengthen that internal sense of calm and joy.

When we ‘house-keep’ or ‘home-keep’ our hearts we start to attract and find similar vibes in the outside world. And we begin to see things differently too. The chaos out in the world becomes more manageable and less scary because no matter what happens out there, we’ve got a strong, peaceful, joy-filled home inside us that isn’t going anywhere.

Tend to your home, tend to your heart. It’s possibly the most important thing you will ever do.

With love as ever, Hannah
